The text you paste is sent to an AI service only to write your reply suggestions. We don't keep it afterwards. Your tone and relationship choices stay on your device.
Off unless you turn it on. When on, Toneme saves one short note after a reply (for example, who someone is to you, how you write to them, or a plan they mentioned such as a meeting time) to make later replies fit better. Notes never include health, money, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, links, ID or account numbers. If a message contains any of these, no note is saved and the app tells you.
Notes are encrypted and stored on Walrus, a decentralized storage network, linked only to a random code on your device, not to you. You can edit or remove notes, or turn Memory off, in Settings. Removed notes are never used again and are deleted automatically when their storage period ends. To keep them hidden until then, our server stores only their storage IDs (not their text), linked to that same random code.
"Not quite right?" is logged anonymously. Only if you choose "Include it" are that message and reply kept, for up to 90 days, to improve quality.
Apple handles payments; we never see card details. To confirm a subscription we keep an anonymous technical record for 90 days.
We count anonymous usage events, never message content or anything that identifies you.
We use an AI provider, hosting and storage providers, and Apple. They may process data outside your country under appropriate legal safeguards. We don't sell your data.
EU, UK and California users can exercise their privacy rights by emailing us. Because we don't keep accounts or identifiable copies, there is usually nothing linked to you to find.
